Sarah Moore, 26, quit her job selling clothes at Next in Edinburgh after becoming fed up of city life, and moved to North Ronaldsay, in the Orkneys - which has a population of just 45 and average age of 65. And as the youngest person living on the island, she soon found herself with no fewer than nine different jobs to hold down - carrying out duties as everything from a firefighter to a shepherdess. She started a job working as a carer, but now also puts in shifts as an air traffic controller, airport baggage handler, and also delivers the island's post. **To use or license this video please contact Licensing@catersnews.com** Company Information: Caters Clips is owned and operated by Caters News Agency Ltd, an international multimedia content provider. Such a beautiful day The sun’s shining in a beautiful way gonna take a shower, brush my teeth and Life is ultimately meaningless ....Uhh (cough)... but I'll get out of the house Get on the road, top down, hands out Put on my favorite song and nod to the rhythm The planet’s being destroyed by your carbon emissions But I- I- , I’ll head to class try my best on every test til I pass and my grades are screaming in my face - Ayyyy 98 percent of what you learn is a waste. I get to hang out with all my friends My friends are the friendliest friends Can't think of a better way to spend my time Your brain is flawed and all your friends will die Nevermind! I’m alive in the greatest nation! So proud of- the exploitation of natives This graceful bird means freedom for all Tell that to the slaves and bald eagles aren't bald I can live in the moment, milk every second at any time you could get clinical depression But I'll just be happy, no matter what’s in store it’s quite genetic and we have no cure uhh- at least (CHORUS ) We are young not for long Life is fun It only goes downhill We gotta make the most of it, Make the most of it or you'll regret it We are young For now Life is fun for some people We gotta make the most of it, Make the most of it Good luck Woo! I got a brand new job today! Doin stuff that'll help the economy I'll save money and buy things at the store Banks can crash and capitalism is flawed And it’s all because of my hard work And the thousand advantages you lucked into at birth I put a lotta effort in my resume! Good thing you don't have a black person’s name I'm proud to be a functioning member of society Finally, I can be the citizen I dream to be part of the community, contribute with my tax What could possibly stop me? The shrinking middle class I’ve at least got a nice stable job Until it’s outsourced to china or replaced by a robot OH GOD- Well then I could relax a bit You'll be empty with nothing to distract from it But man I'm a passionate graduate I can be different and I have a career paths to pick from I could be a rapper or an animator if I'm lucky Neither of those will make you happy, trust me I'm able to choose what I pursue You're a slave to people born richer than you Then screw it, I'll keep going in then I'll party on the weekend and sing Thanks to autotune (CHORUS ) Life is a wonder You’ll never know the answer Nature is a miracle Natural disasters It’s good to be alive You could wake up with cancer But I'm healthy Healthy people still get cancer I love this show It’s the last episode The sun is shining It’s going to explode Every species is beautiful and unique though Children have malaria thanks to mosquitoes I met a cute girl with a ponytail Statistically that relationship is going to fail I have a wonderful family, it’s like no other You're not special and one day you'll bury your mother No matter what I can find a home! We. Will. All. Die. Alone. There’s amazing potential in every human on earth There’s no escaping the heat death of the universe I don't have to live life based on negative parts No matter how bad they are, they're just thoughts Yeah that’s fair wait really? yeah that seems reasonable wait-wait-wait-wait but you were just telling me whatever man, I dunno, live your life how you want, I'm not forcing you to do anything, I'm just saying. Oh...Well in that case... (CHORUS )

# This video is not an official Constantine Museum production but hopefully encourages YT viewers to go see for themselves its artefacts and local history memorabilia. Our grateful thanks to the Museum for allowing us to film at their magnificent heritage centre in the summer of 2016. CONSTANTINE MUSEUM volunteers have been busy for several months researching the parish of Constantine’s involvement in World War I in preparation for a commemorative event next month, reported the Falmouth Packet. The work has built on the significant contribution, undertaken a few years ago, by residents Ronnie Rashleigh and Sally Coot, to find out about the 26 who served in the Great War but did not return. The number included four who lost their lives in the Somme and two who had emigrated and served with the ANZACs in Gallipoli. The first Constantine resident to lose his life as a result of the war was William Bishop, a stone mason, who was returning from the USA on the SS Lusitania, when she was torpedoed off the Irish coast on May 7, 1915. Recent research has focused on the 134 who are known to have served and returned. A number of descendants have come forward with information, photographs and objects. Not only have volunteers been able to find out about experiences on the Western Front but diaries have surfaced detailing life in the Royal Marines both aboard ship and at Scapa Flow, while another from a member of the Royal Garrison Artillery records life in Egypt and Palestine. The volunteers have been impressed by the funds raised by Constantine Church, the four chapels and the local war committee for the Red Cross, serving members of the parish and Belgian refugees. The women of the parish were active under the leadership of Mrs Hext of Trebah and produced clothing for servicemen and their families. They were also keen to increase food production and organised cheese making courses and encouraged potato growing and the keeping of chickens. In advance of the establishment of the Women’s Land Army in 1917, they organised talks with local farmers to gauge their acceptance of women working on the land, one farmer thought it would be better to employ 12 to 14-year-old boys. At least one woman from the parish joined the WLA in 1918 and won prizes for milking at the November Truro Dairy Show. The outcomes of the museum’s research will be showcased in Constantine Remembers – a Commemoration of a Parish's Contribution to World War I, on display at the Tolmen Centre from 10.30 to 5pm on August 6 and 7. Contributions to the exhibition will also be made by the Helford River Scouts, Constantine School, Constantine Cottage Garden Society and the Women’s Institute. The event will begin with a short service at the War Memorial in the churchyard led by Rev Terry Axe, followed by Constantine Silver Band who will be leading the way to the Tolmen Centre in Fore Street. During the afternoon there will be storytelling and singing from the Trengilly Singers and Katie Kirk, a singer from West Cornwall. A member of the Great War Society will be camped on the lawn and will provide demonstrations. On Sunday music will be provided by Constantine Ukulele Band and Jo Mattingley will be giving talks on 100 Faces 100 Stories, the result of Cornwall-wide research undertaken in 2014. Don Garman, Constantine Museum’s collection coordinator, said: “The museum team looks forward to welcoming descendants to the event and they will be very welcome to attend the service at the War Memorial. We would like to thank the Cornwall Community Fund for their support.” http://www.falmouthpacket.co.uk/news/14597043.Constantine_to_commemorate_World_War_One_with_exhibition_and_service/

www.scottish.parliament.uk/bellany-exhibition - Scottish Parliament During the First World War, the Scottish Women’s Hospitals were set up in war zones across Europe to tend sick and wounded servicemen in countries including Serbia, France, Bulgaria and Russia. The hospitals were staffed almost entirely by female doctors, surgeons, nurses and support staff and were funded by communities from across the UK and beyond. Renowned Scottish artist John Bellany (1942-2013) produced a series of oil paintings and drawings inspired by the experiences of the wounded soldiers and the nurses that cared for them. “My PADI is how I hope to foster a healthy respect for sharks.” – Mike Coots, shark-bite survivor, surfer, professional photographer, PADI Open Water Diver One month after he lost his right leg to a tiger shark, while bodyboarding in Hawai’i, Mike Coots was back in the water. And now, 18 years later, shark advocacy has become Mike’s life mission. A professional photographer and influential force in the surf community, Mike is committed to changing people’s perceptions about sharks and lobbying for their protection. Although a certified diver before he lost his leg, it’s only been in the last year that Mike realized the best way to save sharks was to get face to face with the same species that took his leg and share that story with others. Through the power of storytelling and his photography, Mike hopes to show people that sharks aren’t the mindless killers portrayed in the media. “People always ask me how they can help sharks and I'd say go dive and see them first hand. I promise it'll be life changing once you do it,” says Mike. “You can’t comprehend the real beauty of sharks until you can look into their eyes and witness them in their natural environment.” Learn more about Mike at http://mypadi.padi.com/diver/mikecoots/ Help protect sharks: http://www.padi.com/padi4sharks Director of Photography - Brandon Paul Watts - Wanderlust Industries Cinematographer - Dylan Isbell Underwater Cinematography - Duncan Brake - Oceanicallstars Underwater Cinematography - Brandon Paul Watts - Wanderlust Industries Editor - Brandon Paul Watts - Wanderlust Industries Subscribe to our channel: https://www.youtube.com/padi Connect with us elsewhere: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/PADI Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/PADItv Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/PADI Website: https://www.padi.com

This rare silent newsreel shows some of the activities of the German Navy during the First World War. The film begins with shots of seaplanes on patrol over the North Sea, attacking British merchant ships with bombs and sending carrier pigeons back to base to report enemy positions. The famed auxiliary cruiser Mowe is seen in action at the 2:50 mark. SMS Möwe (German: Seagull) was an merchant raider of the Imperial German Navy which operated against Allied shipping during World War I. Disguised as a neutral cargo ship to enable it to get close to targets, the Möwe was effective at commerce raiding, sinking several ships in the course of the war. Some of the large naval battles of the war, including Jutland, are shown from the German perspective. The dramatic sinking of an Austro-Hungarian warship SMS Szent Istvan at the 13:50 mark is one of the most horrifying images of the entire war. By the start of the First World War, the German Imperial Navy possessed 22 pre-Dreadnoughts, 14 dreadnought battleships and 4 battle-cruisers. A further three ships of the König class were completed between August and November 1914, and two Bayern-class battleships entered service in 1916. The battlecruisers Derfflinger, Lützow, and Hindenburg were completed in September 1914, March 1916, and May 1917, respectively. Admiral von Tirpitz became the commander of the Navy. The main fighting forces of the navy were to become the High Seas Fleet, and the U-boat fleet. Smaller fleets were deployed to the German overseas protectorates, the most prominent being assigned to the East Asia Station at Tsingtao. The German Navy's U-boats were also instrumental in the sinking of the passenger liner and auxiliary cruiser, the RMS Lusitania on 7 May 1915, which was one of the main events that led to the USA joining the war two years later in 1917. ..This video was recorded at Beeler Auditorium on the Scapa / Lafayette High School Campus in Lexington Kentucky as the eight grade students received their scholastic achievement awards. This young group scored higher than any other class in the state on the KCCT exams. At this ceremony each received an awards certificate and medallion. My oldest grand baby, fourteen year old Ella White, just happens to be a member of this group. She is a good student, a tremendous up and coming actress, a great singer, and a wild contemporary dancer. Think this is the most intelligent, creative bunch of kids I've had the pleasure of being around ! Several student groups gave short performances and Lexington Mayor Jim Grey was in attendance and addressed the audience as part of the ceremony.

This “Yesterday’s Newsreel” film (episode 130) offers the viewer “television highlights of the news of yesteryear” by providing vintage clips of famous people and events from the first half of the 20th century. It begins with a look back to 1926 and celebrating New York City’s 300th birthday (00:09). The clip shows 19th-century pictures of two New York locations followed by photos or footage of the same locations in 1926: Bowling Green (00:28) and the Flatiron Building (00:42). It shows several buildings during 1926 and then concludes with an aerial view of the city in 1950 (01:47). “1920’s: Dr. Brewster’s Armor” (02:01) shows Dr. Brewster testing his bulletproof body armor, while “1920’s: Building Bridge Around Bridge” (02:32) provides footage of the 1922 construction of a modern bridge around Chicago’s existing Wells Street bridge. “1927: St. Louis Twister!” (04:29) shows the damage caused by the tornado that ripped through the city on 29 September 1927. The next segment in the episode, “1915: Gibson Girl Fire Dept.” (05:35), captures young women in a fire drill using hand-drawn fire equipment (05:47). “1920: Salvage Ships Sunk At Scapa Flow” (06:17) presents footage of salvage crews raising sunken ships off the coast of Scapa, England (06:24), including a tuba salvaged by a diver in full suit (06:43) and the German Battleship Kaiser (06:55). “1930: Aviation” (07:03) shows the first attempt to launch a motorless aircraft from a dirigible (blimp) (07:09) on 31 January 1930. A glider is released from the USS Los Angeles (07:25), piloted by Navy Lt. Ralph Barnaby (07:59), who guides the glider to a safe landing in a snowy field (07:54). A contest in Los Angeles on 9 August 1928 is the topic of the next clip, “1928: Fashions Of The Day” (08:07), as chiropractors look for the most perfectly shaped spinal column. Women contestants show off their backs (08:15) as well as their spinal flexibility (08:50) as they compete for the title. The film’s final segment is dedicated to sports, recapping two events—one from 1929 and another from 1926 (09:18). The first event is a 210-mile dog sled race from Berlin, NH to Boston, MA on 19 January 1929. Ms. Edward Clark drives her team of dogs onward (09:26), though it is her husband, Mr. Edward Clark, who crosses the finish line first (10:16). The second event is the Thanksgiving Handicap Horse Race in Southern California on 25 November 1926, where Cherry Tree takes the lead and a first-place finish (10:38).
