Find Your Vocal Range In 1 Minute.m4v

01:57
Use this to find your vocal range - it only takes 1 minute. If you sing solo you need to know your range so that you can put songs into keys that suit your voice best. If you sing in a choir, you need to know your range to find the right section of the choir for you e.g. soprano, alto etc. If you practice singing your vocal range may increase over time. Choir Section vocal ranges are shown in a table at the end of the video so you can see where your vocal range fits in.

I did at least 15 minutes exercising a day as well as singing through lots of material and within six months my voice made an incredible change. You can too.

My Top 35 Favorite Female Solos From Musical Theatre

11:59
Some of these are going to clash with my Top 27 Favorite Musical Theatre Songs but hey, I made that video, like, years ago so of course my opinion's going to change. Plus, I also got to know more musicals. With that said, here's my Top 35 Favorite Female Solos from musical theatre. Some songs are sung with an ensemble, but it's still sung by one female so I guess it still counts as a female solo. And by the way, see that little 'MY' in the title? Yeah, that means it's my OWN opinion so bashing me in the comments about my choices will do you no good. I'm not going to change my video for your own taste. I don't own anything. All rights go to the respectful owners.

Female Baritone (I've got a secret, 1960)

02:44
I've got a secret: Week 399, 2/3/60 Guest Host: Betsy Panel: Henry, Carol Burnett, Durward Kirby, Bess Program Staff: Hazel Oxholm Lighting: Sal Bonsignore The set is redecorated to add a "feminine touch." Norman Paris plays accordion and piano on stage accompanied by women on harp and double bass. Hallbjörg Bjarnadóttir Nielsen, Reykjavik: "I have a soprano singing voice ... I also sing tenor and baritone ... I also sing bass." Sings "Ol' Man River" like Paul Robeson and "Ain't Misbehavin'" like Louis Armstrong. The rest of the episode: Some dresses are modeled, and then the models are revealed to have what at the time were male-dominated jobs. May Grayson is a bartender, Loretta Rudney is a Pinkerton private investigator, Margaret Allen is a barber, and Rona Levine is a doorman. Edna McKuen, Phoenix: "My home town voted me Man of the Year" (only female member of the city council). Guest Jean-Pierre Aumont: In response to the "feminine" theme, he claims that one area in which men still have it over women is designing women's fashions. To "prove" this, Henry and Durward are provided with materials from which they are to design dresses for Carol and Bess.

How to Sing Low Notes - For Guys & For Women - Felicia Ricci

04:12
How to Sing Low Notes - For Guys & For Women - Sing Lower / http://www.FreeVocalWarmups.com To learn how to sing low, it's all about breath support and getting the resonance in your mouth. Most of the time, when we attempt to sing low notes, we have a tendency to shove our larynx or voice box down deeper into our throats which causes strain and tension. In this video, you'll learn the healthy way to sing lower notes, which revolves around a warmup that will get you to mentally bypass your throat and vocal cords and pop the sound into your mouth, where it healthily "echoes" or resonates. A simple BWUH exercise allows you to sing lower than you thought possible! This time without the strain and without feeling like it's choking your cords. Try it out and let me know what you think! *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ As a professional voice finder, it's my sworn duty to teach you how to find your singing voice! Learning how to improve your singing voice is all about simple, achievable steps that make SENSE to you. All of us learn how to sing on our own timeline, and certain things will click more than others. But it's important that YOU understand your voice more than anyone else -- learning how to be a good singer is, in many ways, getting to know yourself :) If you feel you don't yet know how to sing like a pro, be patient -- every baby step and daily practice session helps. (And I'll keep posting new vids to help you!) xo Fel *~*~*~*~*~*~*~ For more singing tips videos, lessons on how to improve your singing, song breakdowns and other goodies, please don't forget to subscribe! http://www.youtube.com/subscription_center?add_user=madameunreality *~*~*~*~*~*~ Enroll in my completely FREE belt singing course - including 40+ minutes of video: http://www.BeltingCrashCourse.com *~*~*~*~*~*~ Get 11+ vocal warmups, including FREE video demos and audio downloads: http://www.FreeVocalWarmups.com *~*~*~*~*~*~ How to Sing "Chandelier" by Sia: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uP6uoLcasl0&list=PLbCL2oQfBL0Q6dtbs8QoOXzpDE4kOK1Yd

What Songs Should I Not Sing Given My Vocal Range?

09:34
http://www.powertosing.com/ What Songs Should I not sing Given My Vocal Range? Recently I had an associate ask me whether he should sing a certain song. His voice is deeper and has more “heft” or weight in his lower range similar to mine. Most artists who sing those songs have a lighter voice. He wondered if his heavier voice would sound as good. How do you decide if you should sing a song or not? Will your audiences like it? Will your voice sound good singing it? Inside this video, I’ll give you the simple answer to guide every decision about songs you should and should not sing. Hi I’m Chuck Gilmore with Power To Sing. When I first learned to sing The “Soliloquy” from the Broadway show, Carousel, the ending note was the F above middle C. Then I heard John Raitt’s recording of it, and being a tenor, he took the high Bb. So I tried the Bb in my lesson and it was sooooo fun! So I sang the Bb during a workshop for singing teachers. I later got the feedback from a couple of my teachers that just because I can hit the Bb in a lesson doesn’t mean I should sing the Bb in a performance. The reason was that the F was more optimal for my voice. The Bb in my lessons and in the development of my voice will “protect” the F. That means that it will make the F even easier and more comfortable because of my work in practice and lessons singing the Bb. The feedback was that my vibrato was more labored and less consistent on the Bb vs the F. I knew that meant that I had some squeeze going on on that Bb. And so, I’ve given similar advice to singing students. “Just because you can doesn’t mean you should take the higher note in a performance”. As a teacher, this is likely good advice, strictly speaking from a singing technique perspective. But as a singer, wanting to explore the limits of possibility, I never regretted taking the high note! I’ve done it several times since! Given My Vocal Range What Songs Should I Avoid? - The Final Answer So here’s the guideline you can follow the rest of your life. SING WHATEVER YOU WANT. SING IT IN WHATEVER KEY YOU WANT. SING ANY GENRE AND STYLE YOU WANT. FOLLOW YOUR PASSION. FOLLOW YOU HEART. IF YOU LOVE THE SONG, SING IT! Forget what I say as your teacher. Forget any advice you might get from any outside source. Be true to yourself and your heart and your passion. Here’s What I’m Not Saying I’m not saying disregard good technique. I’m not saying abuse or damage your voice. I’m not saying disregard your director, producer, or employer’s advice. But when you have a choice, sing what you want, the way you want, the style and genre you want. As a teacher, I insist on getting you into a healthy, balanced vocal coordination during your lesson and I’ll guide you to optimal vocal technique, and I’ll tell you what I think is ideal. Consequences of Singing What you Want and How you Want What are the consequences of singing what you want and how you want? ==================== ==================== Please whatever you do, make it a rule, YOU DO NO HARM TO YOUR VOICE. Here’s 4 examples of singers who were known for a certain genre and style and sang something completely different. Maybe their voices weren’t a perfect match for the songs, maybe their fans weren’t happy about it, but they did it anyway and in many instances wildly succeeded. My guess is, they didn’t care what you and I thought about it. They wanted to do it! Watch. Linda Ronstadt Pavarotti Michael Bolten Andrea Bocelli Who are others that you know about? Vocal Type Vocal classification is not Vocal Type. Your vocal type is what you tend to do when you sing through the first bridge of the voice. Do you tend to have a high larynx? Pull Chest? Flip? Do it in falsetto? Do it light or breathy? Mix? Go to PowerToSing.com and take the vocal test which I call the power test. Take the quiz and discover your vocal type. Then go to the Knowledge Center and watch the videos about your vocal type. Download the free exercises for your vocal type and start improving your voice immediately. If you liked this video, give it a thumbs up, subscribe and share it with a friend. I’m Chuck Gilmore with Power To Sing. You can sing higher with beauty, confidence and power. My Favorite Contralto Voices: White Female Pop Singers

07:33
The Contralto female voice type is rare. Many women who possess this voice type have voices that are either Strong in the lower register, have a dark color, a heavy tone or a richer sound. Their voices are quite bigger than the other female voice types (Soprano and Mezzo-Soprano). Normally Contralto voices are underestimated or underappreciated. The clips included are clips that break the stereotype of a CONTRALTO. Here is the third list of women who are Contralto singers/vocalist. Of course they are wonderful singers who can break down monuments with their smooth , powerful or dark tone and timbre. This is Part 3. A few mentions: Patti Page, Joyce Berry, Timi Yuro, Doris Day, Debbie Sims, Rosemary Clooney and Toni Tennille from Captain & Tennille (I own none of these clips, This is just a compilation of great Contralto singer/vocalists)

How to Go from Bad Singer to Good Singer - Felicia Ricci

How to Go from Bad Singer to Good Singer (or at least decent!) - http://www.FreeVocalWarmups.com - Practice singing with my free warmup series Some basic singing tips for beginner singers who don't know where to start! Most of my videos are geared toward singers who have a baseline understanding of pitch and a certain amount of control over their vocal cords. But I made this video to answer some questions I've been getting from subscribers who feel like they're right at the VERY BEGINNING of their singing journey and feel like they "suck," haha. I don't want to leave you guys out in the cold, so here are some of the top ways you can make some headway, including: (1) working within your vocal range so you find songs that are easiest to sing for you, (2) starting very small with manageable, focused tone (which is easiest to control), (3) opening up your FACE which is where your tone and resonance is produced, (4) learning to not be afraid of sounding stupid or not like "yourself" when you go to sing. Hopefully these singing techniques, tips, and tricks will help you on your singing journey!! xo Fel *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Take my completely FREE belt singing course here: http://www.BeltingCrashCourse.com *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Learn more about me here: http://www.FeliciaRicci.com As a professional voice finder, it's my sworn duty to teach you how to find your singing voice! Difference between a TENOR and a BARITONE | with Mark Baxter | #DrDan

Dr Dan and Mark Baxter present the difference between the Tenor and Baritone voice with sung examples. Every one of us has inherent vocal challenges, and many of them are accounted for by our anatomy. The take-home fact: your voice is unique and should be celebrated accordingly! The aim of today’s video is to celebrate the biological differences between the tenor and the baritone voice type. Of course, the same applies when comparing any two voice types. In fact, we’d even hear variances when comparing two voices of the same voice classification. Want to identify your personal voice type? How To Sing Any Song - Voice Lessons - Ken Tamplin Vocal Academy

13:30
How to sing any song - Voice Lessons - Ken Tamplin Vocal Academy One of the most important factors for how to sing any song is maybe to say this a different way. How can I find myself in this song? There is a roadmap. And this roadmap consists of some very key criteria for finding yourself in a song. 1) Ownership. How well do you know it? This is extremely important from a psychological confidence factor. 2) Is it something that fits and suits your voice? Otherwise, massage it, mold it, and meld it into your own vibe and style. If you don't feel you have enough originality in your voice to do this, there is no harm in learning and capturing the spirit and style of the original and trying to duplicate it. This is how we grow and put in our "tool box" for singing many different styles. You will find that once you learn a few licks and the vibe of various artists, there is a similarity you can draw from, so you are not reinventing the wheel every time you sing. 3) Do you have realistic expectations (and it's ok to reach for the stars, but do it incrementally, with a realistic plan/goal on how to get there AND allow yourself enough time to do so) 4) Have you trained technically to be "in shape" to sing a desired song? It's not practice that makes perfect. It's PERFECT practice that makes perfect. Get good quality information on how to get there. Einstein's definition of insanity is "trying the same experiment over and over and expecting a different result." If you keep trying the same thing, and it is not working, your information (and/or at least your understanding, interpretation, and implementation of that information) is not correct. You should see results even if they are small. I cover all this in my singing course. I hope this helps you guys, God bless, Peace... Out! Get Low - Female Vocal Workout Exercise for Singing Lessons

01:37
Get Low - Female Vocal Workout Exercise http://blagmusic.blogspot.com This video highlights the bottom end of the female vocal range. the lowest note in this exercise is F3 but Christina Perr's "Jar of hearts" requires a singer to be able to reach Eb3. Chrinstina Aguilera sings even lower. Another song often attempted by singers I have met is Beyonce's "If I were a boy" which goes down to an F#3. The visual in this video shows Midde C as being C5. This is just how FL Studio shows it's octaves. But for conversations when talking about vocal range it is important to know that C4 is middle C. Thanks for watching!

3 Tips To Find Your Voice (For Singers) - Felicia Ricci

08:58
3 Tips To Find Your Voice (For Singers) - Felicia Ricci / http://www.BeltingCrashCourse.com - Take my FREE 3-video belt singing course! This video is all about how to find a singing voice that is uniquely "yours." It offers my top 3 tips for doing so...some of which might surprise you! 1) Pay attention to the natural variation in "color" (or resonance, or tone) when you speak in the day-to-day. Become aware of all the variations that are possible, and what kind of emotional intention or context usually prompts them. 2) Start by imitating! This one might be a bit controversial, but even the seemingly most original singers had influences that turned to inspiration, that eventually led to their creating their own sound. 3) Don't be afraid to be weird and look silly! Get rid of those blocks of what you're "supposed" to sound like will allow you to experiment more freely, which will unlock tones you didn't know were possible. What do you think about this topic? Don't forget to leave me a comment! *~*~*~*~*~*~*~ As a professional voice finder, it's my sworn duty to teach you how to find your singing voice! Singing Tips: The Four Vocal Types. Which One are You?

04:31
http://www.powertosing.com/knowledge-center/ http://www.powertosing.com/ Warning: Many voices are a combination of these vocal types. However, generally speaking, most voices tend to “favor" one of these. What is a Vocal Type? A vocal type is not whether you are a soprano, alto, tenor or bass. A vocal type describes what your vocal cords and the sound vibrations (resonance) tend to do in your body when you sing. What are the Vocal Types? There are 4 vocal types: 1. Pulled Chest/High Larynx: You tend to pull the low voice (chest voice) higher than is appropriate. And/or the larynx is raised higher than it should be. Usually it feels and sounds like you are reaching up for the note, or it sounds yelled, strained and difficult. 2. Light Chest/No Chest: Your vocal cords don't come together firmly resulting in a breathy or soft tone. Or they don't come together at all in the lower ranges. 3. Flip/Falsetto: Your vocal cords break or separate as you sing higher resulting in a break or interruption in the tone. In the case of falsetto, the vocal cords slightly come together but are essentially disconnected. This results is a tone with little bottom tonal quality which cannot blend with the lower voice without reconnecting. 4. Mix: Your vocal cords are able to adjust from your lower to upper voice without interruption in sound. The "weight" or mass of the vocal cords thins as you sing higher, the cords stay together (don't disconnect) and you get a blend of both the lower (chest) voice and upper (head) voice. Because you get a blend of both head and chest voice it is referred to as a Mix...that is a mix of chest and head voice. Why is knowing my vocal type critical to my singing success? Vocal exercises tend to cause the vocal cords and the resonance to do specific things in your body. You don’t want to do exercises that are going to keep you doing the same wrong thing. You want exercises that will get you doing the right thing. This gives you results quickly. For example: Suppose you came to me as your track coach for exercises to help you jump higher. But instead I gave you exercises that helped you run faster instead…but had no impact on your jumping. How long will it take to see results? Maybe never. But if I give you the exercises designed specifically for your exact needs, soon you will be jumping higher. It’s that simple. Knowing what you tend to do vocally helps you know what exercises you need for your voice to improve rapidly. Inside Power to Sing, you can select exercises for your vocal type that will cause your voice to improve fast! Check out the Knowledge Center for these exercises. Which vocal types are bad? There are no bad vocal cords or resonance. The vocal types only describes a physical process inside your body not a judgement about the quality of the voice or artistry of the singer. Your vocal type describes what your vocal cords and resonance tends to do when you sing. What do I do after I know my Vocal Type? After discovering your vocal type using the free PowerTest and Quiz [link to it], study more about it in the Knowledge Center. Once you have a better understanding of what you tend to do when you sing, select exercises in the Knowledge Center designed for your vocal type. These exercises are tailored specifically for your unique needs and can lead to rapid improvement in your voice. Free downloads of exercises for each vocal type are available in the Knowledge Center. [Link to blogs for each vocal type] Many singers see immediate results. I recommend doing these exercises daily for several weeks. If done correctly you will see incredible results. Here is the link to the 4 vocal types in The Knowledge Center of Power to Sing.http://www.powertosing.com/knowledge-center/ http://www.powertosing.com/ Help us caption & translate this video! http://amara.org/v/IXEq/ Join Singers Impact: https://www.powertosing.com/singers-impact-launch

TOP 15 Mezzo Soprano Voices In Non Operatic Music

08:24
To the Barbra fans who got mad on me for not includíng her in the last one, here's why =). Like the soprano video, I used the term mezzo soprano voices instead of mezzo sopranos because this about my preference for their voices themselves and this is not measuring their vocal ability (although I did chosen some of the best, but might have forgot some), just my favorite mezzo soprano voices organized according to my personal taste.
